MBRFC Past Players and Supporters

We got up and running last year and have currently signed up about 80 guys and gals over several generations who as a result , have had the opportunity to get together to enjoy some great company, and exchange old memories exaggerated stories and downright lies, whilst at the same time raising much Funds to support young players wishing gain experience in NZ and to support special projects at MBRFC.

Richard Henson and Charlie Walker-Blair were the first two players to benefit and we have agreed to help towards the purchase of a much needed Mini Bus for the Club this year.

We organised a highly successful race night . Past Players day was a hoot and really livened up Christmas and the sponsored lunch was enjoyed by all.

We are going to run all these again and here are the dates:-

Sponsored Lunch November 1st 2008

We will be hosting the 1st XV Tribute Western Counties League game against Tiverton . We will be putting on a pre match buffet to which all members, potential members , old friends and down and outs will be welcome.
There will be no charge but bearing in mind that there is no such thing as a ‘Free Lunch’ you may rest assured that we will use time honoured methods to ensure that we cover the cost and maybe even make a small profit.
Bring a fiver !

Race Night Saturday 6th December 2008
Another great night in store. Club President Mike Rawle will be doing the selling in his inimitable style.
Tables of 10 will be on sale for £ 60.00 to include a light buffet and further tickets will be available @ £ 6 each
We really do need to ensure that Caroline has numbers for catering so sign up asap. We do not want her to be making 3 trips to Tesco like last year !

Past Players Day Saturday 27th December 2008

Perfectly timed to follow Christmas Day with the family and with Boxing Day to recover Colin Howells, Dave Hurley and Dave Bodley will be raising two star studded sides (Or did they say sides of studs?) to entertain the vast anticipated crowd .

Membership Drive. If every member signs up just one more old mate then we can spread the word wider and raise another £800 . Go for it !
